My Kind of River Patrick Tillard

We’re starting Season 3 with the truly brilliant Steve Edge, a larger than life creative genius who lives by the motto: dress for a party everyday and the party will come to you. Steve runs a global branding agency and has the most infectious enthusiasm I’ve ever encountered - he is just a whirlwind of energy.

Our guest this week is a true fishing great: author and guide Tom Rosenbauer. Many people argue that no one has done more for the world of fly fishing than Tom - he’s written over 25 books, along with articles, instructional videos and podcasts that aim to educate and help people with their fishing.

We’ve got a bumper episode this week with brothers Will and Al Peake, aka TwinPeakes Fly Fishing, who are both going to be designing a dream river. We’re in their offices on the banks of the River Dee in Scotland and from here the brothers offer a one-stop shop for all things fishing.

Today we’re hearing from sculptor Sam MacDonald. We’re huddled around a small table in his studio in East Lothian in Scotland and around us we’ve got metalworks of brown trout, salmon, mackerel and bone fish - as settings for the podcast go, this is a pretty great one.

We’re kicking off Season Two with Luke Jennings, the best-selling author of the Killing Eve series, which went on to become a global TV success. Perhaps more importantly, he wrote one of the all-time great angling books, Blood Knots, his memoir about fishing and friendships.

Marcus Janssen heads up the iconic country sporting brands Schöffel and Le Chameau. He is a hugely gifted writer and an even better fisherman. He was also my first Editor more than a decade ago, when I cut my teeth in journalism. You may recognise the accent... that's because his brother Yuri kicked off Season One of the podcast.
