    Revelations

    Revelations

Today we look back at Jo’s revelation in their twenties that they’d been a victim of Munchausen by proxy abuse: a moment that turned their world upside down. As Jo forges a path forward – reviewing their medical records and even confronting their childhood pediatrician – they discover how complex healing from this abuse truly is.
Jo also opens up about their experiences with Dissociative Identity Disorder. We speak to Jo’s therapist, Angie, about their complicated system of coping mechanisms. We also bring in Jackie Rodriguez LMSW, QMHP-CS and peer support specialist Jade Miller to help us understand the deeply misunderstood and stigmatized condition of DID.

Gripping podcast

Really tough subject but the narration is excellent. I also admire how Andrea tackles difficult topics openly, and reflects on her own bias and thought processes which boosts her credibility in my view.

You lost me when you praised the Witch Trials of JK Rowling podcast

I was enjoying this podcast and found it to be rigorous, nuanced, sensitive and - because one of the key guests is nonbinary - assumed it was informed by inclusive, intersectional feminism. But in S3E1 you not only verbally praised Phelps-Roper’s JK Rowling podcast but even linked to it. This was totally unnecessary. It would have been appropriate to mention Phelps-Roper’s TED talk and leave it at that. I’m wondering how Jordyn must feel about your promotion of a podcast that, in my view, minimises the serious harm caused by dehumanising anti-trans campaigns. It’s crushing that you think this is not a big deal. Really disappointing.

Biology is fact. Biology is REAL. Women count!

Stick to the topic. No need to go after JK Rowling. Not everyone has drank the cool aid. Stand up for women in prisons. Stand up for women in refuges. Biology is real. Surely ask one of your doctor friends about this!
