Dan Martin is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Liverpool John Moores University, UK, after completing his PhD there, where his research focuses on nutrition and behaviour change in pro/elite sport. His research in this area was awarded with the SENr Professor Clyde Williams OBE Award for Research and Innovation in Sport and Exercise Nutrition. 

In his applied roles he is a Performance Nutrition Consultant for the Professional Jockeys Association where much of his work focuses on working with the jockey athlete directly given their necessity to 'make weight' over 300-days per year, and the various organisations within the sport to create an industry-wide intervention. Following his impact in racing he also works with the British Olympic Equestrian team in their preparations for the Tokyo and Paris games. Away from equine sports he is the nutritionist for an EFL Championship football club and a Formula One race team.
