Welcome to a new episode of the What Next Mum Podcast!

In this episode I chat to Natalie Hawkrigg, a fell runner, GP and mum of 3.

Natalie has been fell running for over 25 years and has completed the Bob Graham Round,  However, following a calf tear in 2018 she took up more swimming and this led her to obtain the record for the winter  Frog Graham Round in 2022 in a time of 15h45.

She is the only person to have undertaken all 3 UK major swimruns - which include the Stirling Round in Scotland and the Puddle Buckley in Wales.

Natalie also shares how she kept her fitness during pregnancy and after and what this year has in store for her.

This is an inspiring episode (as they all are) and I hope it motivates you in your next challenge.  Thanks for listening!

Welcome to a new episode of the What Next Mum Podcast!

In this episode I chat to Dr Ruth Naughton-Doe, a mum of one, trail runner and bike packer.

Ruth and I chat about life pre-children and the barriers to be active when you don't feel you look the right way - and the traumas of having to wear knicker shorts at school!

When Ruth's daughter was 2 she and her husband took her on a 2 week bikepacking trip to Iceland and we chat about the trip, how Lyra found it and dealing with online negativity.

Ruth is also a trail runner and hiker and she shares the frustration of getting back to running and coping with the realities of her post partum body and the journey to recover from birth.

I really enjoyed this chat and I hope you enjoy listening.  If so, please take the time to share the episode and to rate it on whatever platform you listen.

Exactly what I needed to hear

A must listen for anyone who wants to have

or has a life of adventure plus children!

Since becoming a new mum myself I often wondered if I’d still be as adventurous as I always have been or if I’d change considerably and would no longer be the old me. This podcast is particularly inspiring to me because the guests are all those who’ve gone on to achieve incredible things after children and it’s exactly what I need to hear right now!
