What do you do with a problem like Winston?

Prescription charges inaccuracy

Can you please stop saying that, under National’s policy to scrap universal free prescriptions, families will pay no more than $100 per year? Under the previous regime, which National want to return to, this was only true if you keep receipts and take them in to get the free prescriptions card, or if you go to the same chemist every time and they have all your family bundled together on their system so they automatically give you the card. A lot of families slipped through the cracks under this system and would do so again under National’s plans.

Poor analysis

Overall, poor analysis (eg on Ardern not putting a stake in the ground over cannabis reform—yes politicians should put a stake in a ground and stand for something, as she did on abortion, but cannabis is clearly not something she wants to do that over, and fair enough!) Lisa Owen is a crucial voice but it is disappointing that there isn’t another woman’s voice on this caucus—too often a Guyon or Tim talk over Lisa (to be fair, they all do it) and downplay casual misogyny. I wish they’d do better.
