Interesting but need to reflect on terms used around suicide
Enjoyed ‘The Lady Vanishes’ and this podcast also seems very interesting. It is right this case is looked at again and that justice is sought for Gwen. However, perhaps there is a need to reflect on the out-dated terminology and language used around suicide so as not to perpetuate stigma associated with what is more-often-than not the tragic result of a mental health issue such as depression. E.g. ‘committed suicide’; ‘clear Gwen’s name’ give the impression suicide is a sin or something to be ashamed of. It can really happen to anyone and often there are no outward signs, prior.
Tragic
Well produced and extremely interesting. Worth a listen
Excellent
If the rude, aggressive policeman who shouted over the narrator’s attempts to speak to him and listened instead he might have learned something. Fortunately he has retired as he is obviously a dinosaur - demonstrated by his insistence that despite the procedures not having being followed the conclusion was still correct - and his ignorant view of coercive control. Hopefully he will hear himself on the podcast and realise his interview actually strengthen the case that the death was murder.
