Episode 175: From Mysteries To Metroidvanias (with Stuart Turton)

Matthew speaks to one of his favourite authors, Stuart Turton. Hear about his exhausting creative process (seriously, you won't believe it), and what it takes to write a novel – including his latest, The Last Murder at the End of the World. Then, in part two, hear more about Stu's love of video games, which runs incredibly deep.
Samuel is away for this one. Matthew gets the name of the podcast slightly wrong at the start, but don't hold it against him.
This week's music is from the Return of the Obra Dinn soundtrack by Lucas Pope.

At long last,

I thought I’d finally found the biscuit ranking podcast. For once, I felt happy.

Then they changed the subject.l to talk about other stuff. You know, waggling joysticks or something. I gave it a try. You might too.

Funny, informative, knowledgeable

Top tier podcasting from Samuel and Matthew. The dynamic between them is great which can lead to some hilarious moments but most importantly is the variety on offer with each episode and you can tell they both really know their stuff. The guest episodes are great too and the addition of Jeremy and Phil with the PC gaming classics series has been a superb addition to the schedule. If I could request one thing it would be for Phil to do a series or even one off episode with someone about racing games as I know that’s a big genre for him.

A 5 star piercing laugh if ever there was one

Great entertaining gaming banter.
