It’s the start of PGA week, although not the very start since Iain was flying on Monday and Eddie was taking advantage of a very generous offer of golf at Walton Heath at a perfectly respectable tee-time. So it is a slightly delayed pod which the trio make up for by wondering if Rory McIlroy’s victory at Quail Hollow installs him as favourite for the second men’s major of the year. Or will Koepka bring his big-stage game to the fore again? And will Scheffler be rusty after giving his first-born two surnames?
The trio also go into the history of the US PGA and the many honours of an often-forgotten British great of the game. Meanwhile lots of people tell us that their golf club does very good coffee, about which Eddie remains very sceptical indeed.

Eddie returns with an explanation for his WD as his trip to Japan proved to be no more than a long way to go for some physio. The trio then discuss the incredible atmosphere / godawful behaviour (delete as appropriate) at LIV Adelaide as well as reflecting on a win for Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry as they teamed up to take the title in New Orleans.
The trio then becomes a quartet as Dominic Holland joins to discuss his updated golf novel 'Open Links’ as well as his own love for the game which is shared by his many - and very famous - offspring. They also wonder if The Edge might listen to the podcast but just not admit it.

This week the trio are once more spread across the globe, although in Japan jet lag has broken Eddie to the point where he has wisely chosen sleep ahead of recording the podcast. So it’s left to Iain in Texas and Andrew - not in Texas - to discuss the two currently unstoppable figures of Nelly Korda and Scottie Scheffler, with the former winning her second major at the Chevron and the latter the delayed Heritage at Hilton Head. They also manage to find time to consider the pros and cons of carrying a bag vs using a trolley, while caddies come off very poorly in their review of club transportation. The Masters is done and Scottie Scheffler gets to put on the green jacket again. All three of our podcasters convene - eventually, with Andrew having broken in to Iain’s Augusta rental house - to discuss the dominance of the World Number One. They mull over a final round, where all of his challengers faltered at various points - in the end TCF’s own Ludvig Oh-berry taking second place in his first major championship and Tommy Fleetwood one place further back for his best Masters finish.
There is still time to talk about Eddie’s decision to resume playing early and head to Japan - if he can get to London to pay £17 for a visa.
