Lauren Mahon | Moving on after trauma, living life to the fullest and being the Kathy Burke of cancer‪.‬ The Emma Guns Show

    • Health & Fitness

To know Lauren Mahon is to love her. It’s as simple as that. And considering everything she’s been through in the last few years, she’s also a huge inspiration.
Diagnosed with breast cancer at 31, she was the host of the hugely successful podcast You, Me and the Big C with her friends Rachel Bland and Dame Deborah James who have both since died. Lauren, on the other hand, has been in remission for over five years.
I didn’t want this conversation to be about two huge, defining traumas; her cancer and losing her close friends and I’m so glad because we recorded this episode at a time when Lauren has never felt more hopeful and excited about the future.
Though this podcast is about my guests sharing the life lessons they’ve learned from going through the tougher stuff in life, and how they’ve come out the other side, that doesn’t mean we have to plumb the darkest depths - and as you’ll hear in this conversation, there’s a lot of light and love!
I challenge you to finish this episode and not a) love Lauren but also want b) to punch the air and potentially c) feel as though you can take over the world.
