No Dunks

5 stars for No Dunks, as Skeets, Trey, Tas and JD are an excellent and fun, knowledgeable mix that don’t take themselves too seriously. The Olympics idea was incredibly ambitious; the sheer scope meant that the show felt stretched and superficial at times. One of the biggest stories of the entire games was the row over women’s boxing, which the podcast omitted entirely (presumably an editorial decision, but I was kind of disappointed to see it ignored). Similarly, there was scant coverage of the details of the Chinese swimming cheating accusations, which was a huge issue in international coverage. That said, Nora is a natural and charming host, and whether with Skeets or in a separate project, I’d be more than happy to hear more from her. I’m not going to say “stick to basketball”, because I think this team can definitely stretch beyond that, but perhaps this summer has been an over-exertion.

No questions this is the best podcast out there when it comes to NBA Basketball. The depth of knowledge and insight is second to none and the delivery is so conversational you feel like you’re one of the bros. Also, these are just great guys, I agree with 100% of what each of them say. Mayo is disgusting, Family Guy isn’t funny & there are too many demogorgons in Stranger Things S2. Shout out to the departed Leigh Ellis too, don’t worry he’s not dead, he’s ballin around the world and peeing the wrong way from continent to continent. Anyway, enjoy listening. Have a great time. These guys are basketball royalty (I still can’t believe they haven’t been invited to an All Star celebrity game). They have coined league-wide movements such as the wedgie (and soon-to-be league-wide use of “slop” to describe trade rumours). No Dunks light up my darkest days and give me something to look forward to each day and then blow my day up with impromptu emergency pods. Family. Love from London, England.

I haven’t been to a basketball game since 2012, I haven’t even watched one on TV in 10 years, I’ve never watched a frame of the Fast and Furious franchise, or a single second of Survivor. And yet I’ve listened to virtually every podcast these guys have released. I don’t even feel the need to engage with any of that ‘real’ stuff because No Dunks is here to tell me what happened, in a far more entertaining way, with sicko-level detail, hilarious digressions and better adverts.
