Episode 3: David Stickler, Hybar

Episode 3 focuses on Hybar, a new venture that aims to become the most cost-efficient and most environmentally sustainable rebar producer in North America. In 2023, Hybar raised $700 million to build and operate a scrap metal recycling steel rebar mill. David Stickler, CEO of Hybar, describes his project, currently under way in Arkansas, and the role it will play in low carbon steel production. He describes lucidly the technical and business transformation of the North American steel industry over the last 30 years and offers an honest and revealing comparison to that of the European steel industry.
