Episode 99: Izzy B. Phillips, Black Honey

The James McMahon Music Podcast

Black Honey are one of my favourite bands. And that band’s singer, Izzy B. Phillips, is one of my favourite people in the music scene today.

The Brighton based group are returning on March 17th, 2023, with a new record – their third and the follow up to 2021’s excellent Written & Directed – entitled A Fistful Of Peaches, which comes via FoxFive Records. This conversation is about all of the above, but also about other things. Because at times it’s absolute fucking chaos. There’s a dog in it. The delivery of plastic skin. A severed head. Charles Bronson. And at one point me and Izzy make up a song together.

Strap yourselves in, this one gets lively…
