Savoy savourings

Great little number once again by Damian at the Savoy - actually it was wasn’t so little but a grand affair. Readings that lit up the ballroom and stoked up emotions. Hugely impressive, and these older podcasts are pretty much fun too.

Intimate Literary Events

Fantastic! I feel like I'm there. Authors who don't take themselves too seriously. Wonderful. I highly recommend.

Mr Barr goes from strength to strength

I've been lucky enough to attend some of Damian's brilliant salons but have missed a greater number. The atmosphere at the readings is always great - a heady mix of intellectual stimulation, witty banter and gin! - so I wondered how the salons would translate into audio material. Listening to them actually feels like a one-to-one (one-to-two) audience with the writer and Damian: you forget that it's not happening in real time and that there were other people there (apart from audience chuckles). They are intimate, illuminating and always provide an answer to 'what shall i read next?'.
I'm halfway through the ones I missed and looking forward to the other half, which I'll probably consume in one greedy sitting.
