Ep 187 // High Performance Shoulders in Sport with Dr Ian Horsley

What Dr Ian Horsely doesn't know about the shoulder isn't worth knowing!
    .
He's worked in the world of performance sports for decades and worked with some of the highest performing athletes across the world in multiple sports like England Rugby, England football, GB Olympic team and British Gymnastics to name but a few!
    .
We were lucky enough to be invited by Ian to work with some of the strength and conditioning coaches and physiotherapists he consults for at the FA (England  Football Association) where we were looking at improve robustness of the shoulder in sports and how calisthenics can be a training modality to help integrate a high performing shoulder into the rest of the kinetic chain.
    .
We jumped at the chance to have Dr Ian Horsely on the podcast to allow him to share some of the amazing knowledge and experience he has with you the listeners. Hope you enjoy this one as much as we did speaking with Dr Ian Horsely again.

Ep 184 // Why we're training the easy stuff! [Tim + Jacko]

Ep 184 // Why we're training the easy stuff! [Tim + Jacko]

Why we're training the easy stuff! Really...?
    .
Well it's true and not because we don't like the 'cool' or 'sexy' stuff anymore and certainly not because we just like taking it easy and lost motivation for training - although that happens to us all at time right!?
    .
The easy stuff, meaning more the basics is often where the gold lies. The basics is often why we actually progress more. It's actually been a time of reflection on our training since COVID changed all our training environments and in this weeks podcast we each give an insight onto how and why training has changed for each of us in different ways.

First review

I listen to a number of podcasts and have never felt compelled to rate nor review until your physical pension series came out. Being 50+ and an ex sportsman still fighting the middle age many things I could relate to. Great work guys keep them coming.

First Listen

Just listened for first time (episode 157) and super impressed. Thanks gentlemen and please keep up the AMAYZING work. Hoping now that this time in 10 years I’ll be a sixty something doing a ring muscle up - at home, but hopefully not in lockdown! 🤗. Anyways awesome Podcast and can’t wait for next listen.

A very relaxed podcast by guys that know their stuff

It's great to listen to a podcast (and watch a YouTube channel) on bodyweight and calisthenics where the presenters are from the UK.

I think this gives their podcast / channel a different 'feel' than some of the US ones, which can be more of a 'final results' presentation, rather than a 'how you get there' style or format.

Clearly they both have a wealth of background knowledge and are very open in mentioning where they've 'gone wrong' in the past (ie not trained the best way or suchlike).

Have only just found the podcast this week so I'm having a bit of a 'binge-listen' and will hopefully, post lockdown, be able to attend one of their workshops.

I've already benefitted from their videos since they've identified some progressions I could use.

Thx guys, and to others reading this, get onboard.
