As the UK prepares to vote in a new government on July 4, join host Hannah Barnes is joined by NS journalists including veteran broadcaster Andrew Marr for daily discussion of the latest election developments including reaction from around the UK, polling analysis with expert Ben Walker, and a regular listener questions episode every Friday.
New episodes publish at 5pm Monday-Friday.

Stop The Bets!
The Tory gambling scandal respawned last night when it was revealed that a met officer working in Rishi Sunak's protection team had been arrested over alleged bets, and also being looked into by the Gambling Commission is Laura Saunders - a Conservative candidate who happens to be married to the director of campaigns in CCHQ.
The team also discuss the three polls published last night; while the predictions may differ, all roads lead to disaster for the Conservatives.

Excellent except the music
Why do they keep changing the music? It is rubbish now. Please can we have ‘Devil with the Devil’ back?
Analytically weak
The New Statesman’s lurch to the right has unfortunately impacted the quality of journalism on the podcast. Presenters will report something a politician has said and say something like “sounds like a good idea.” There’s no attempt at analysis or critical appraisal. Analysis of the polls is good and there are occasional deep dives on policy but in general it is useless

Really offended by the way in which the Welsh Senedd was discussed. The statement that ‘basically nobody cares about Wales’ was really tone deaf.
