I have been following Doc Jen since about 2018, roughly a year and half after my first big injury ‘a complete rupture of the ATFL and CFL’. Since following I have learnt there is a huge difference, between flexibility and mobility, and the goals I was trying to obtain were not right for my body. I now understand, that strength training is vital for hypermobile joints and why I find it difficult for my body to produce power and it be fully supported, also how to create the mind to muscle connection.
I have listened to every podcast, I have taken notes on each one and I think the most amusing part was trying to get on and off the floor with my hand attached to my knee, which I think is referenced in podcast 8. I also like the bit in Podcast 7, Where Dr Dom mentioned it took him between 3-5 years to gain awareness to begin to feel a significant difference, and how long have we been creating dysfunctional patterns? This really struck a cord with me, because a lot of my issues come down to having bad perioperception.
I am just about to listen to Podcast 10 on knee pain, I am looking forward to the plethora of information because I currently have knee tendinitis due to the lack of glute support and lifting the ankle.
Despite all of the sets backs, and two ankle injuries I look back on everything and I am able to find a sliver lining and be thank for these occurrences. Without them I wouldn’t be were I am now, stronger than before, more informed and a strong positive mind set, but still a ways to go.
I love listening to your podcasts, they are gold dust! I have also noted some of the interview names down, Dr stacie at physio fix and Mistro movement can’t wait to look into these guys further. Also, your Instagram videos are a bonus, I am more of a visual learn and it helps me to understand what I need to feel going on.
I would love to hear a podcast on how important the glutes are and how they make sure functional, or maybe a bit more on hypermobility. I understand that it is caused by tighter areas in other parts of the body, but I have a lot of strain / sharp stinging on my knee / elbow ligaments.
Love you doc Jen, stay safe. 🐾
