Newfrontiers founder Terry Virgo: Restoring the church, witnessing miracles and longing for revival

The Profile

Esther Higham meets the veteran church leader and pioneer of Newfrontiers, Terry Virgo. Terry began his ministry with a small house church in Seaford on the south coast of England in 1968 with "no sense at all" that it would one day become a worldwide movement with nearly 2,000 churches globally. In those early days, Newfrontiers was part of the growing charismatic movement, which emphasised the gifts of the Holy Spirit including healing and prophecy. Another distinctive of the movement was its desire to move away from what had been viewed as dry church traditions of the time. Terry stepped back from day to day leadership in 2011, handing on the baton to 15 other apostolic leaders, but he's far from retired. Aged 83 he continues to travel globally, speaking and ministering. In this in depth interview, Terry recounts his own conversion to Christianity and discusses both the miracles he's personally witnessed, and his ongoing desire to see revival.
