Christopher Maher, ex-Navy SEAL, Healer, Coach, Speaker, Author, Spiritual Being, Founder of True Body Intelligence

Christopher Maher, ex-Navy SEAL, Healer, Coach, Speaker, Author, Spiritual Being, Founder of True Body Intelligence

ex-Navy SEAL. Healing Expert. Coach. Speaker. Author. Spiritual Being. Inventor. Entrepreneur. Founder of True Body Intelligence.
Everything that we do in life revolves around an exchange of energy. As a result, each interaction that we are involved in is effectively a co-creation. You’re co-creating when sitting with others around a table, through exchanging glances, your thoughts, your body language, and while you’re conversing.
Our guest this week, Christopher Maher, is a naturally high vibing person. He makes it his mission to always bring his best self to each interaction that he has. His secret is to make sure that his central nervous system is operating in receptive mode, as opposed to protective mode.
Christopher Maher, dealt with a lot of childhood trauma, but overcame it, and at the age twenty-two enrolled in Navy SEAL training. In his latter years as a SEAL, he was getting tighter, and closing in emotionally. Even though he had the exterior of an athlete, he was losing his vision, had to read lips, and was barely sleeping. A yoga mat and juicer, were the beginning of his healing journey.
Christopher spent years healing, learning, and training. He undertook a deep and prolonged journey to seek knowledge. He studied a multitude of wellbeing methods under a variety of thought leaders. He would practice on himself daily for hours on end, so that he could one day teach what he had learned and experienced.
Once he was ready, Christopher set off on a deep spiritual awakening, a 30-day dark-room meditation retreat in Thailand. The experience was literally a portal that took him into another dimension of reality and opened up a whole new perspective on life.
All this has led Christopher to develop a comprehensive system and techniques based on Eastern philosophy, of total physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing and integration. True Body Intelligence System, allows people to find love and peace through removing distortion in their body and becoming open again.
This is a powerful podcast that we can all do with listening to at this time in our history, because it will allow us to take a deep look at our actions and how we are showing up in life. Christopher shared a ton of valuable information and advice with us on; dealing with our shadows, breathing to de-stress, deep inner work, receptive mode vs protective mode, co-creation, energy transfer, how to practice self-love, and many other fascinating stories from his life.
We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did.
Let’s find out what it means for Christopher Maher, to be Ridiculously Human.

Shaun Fuchs, Author, Educationalist, Speaker, Soldier, World Traveller, and Lifelong Entrepreneur

Shaun Fuchs, Author, Educationalist, Speaker, Soldier, World Traveller, and Lifelong Entrepreneur

Author. Educationalist. Motivational Speaker. Soldier. World Traveller. Powerlifter. History Teacher. Lifelong Entrepreneur. Mentor. Leader. Buddy. Beloved Headmaster.
There are many empowering strengths that we rely on as humans, allowing us to have trust and faith in each other. We seek consistency in traits like honesty, level-headedness, compassion, kindness, love, acceptance and openness. If we can find these in other people, it gives us the confidence to accept them as part of our tribe, and to be the leaders amongst us.
Our guest this week, Shaun Fuchs, is a man who has spent his life in the firing line. Leadership, is something which comes naturally to him and is wired into his DNA.
For a man who loves the order and structure of institutions, Shaun Fuchs, is a difficult person to pigeon hole, besides the fact that he is a serious high achiever! Shaun is a dynamic teacher, a renowned water-polo coach, a beloved headmaster, a business leader…and a gay man who came of age when society was a lot more close-minded than it is today. Shaun’s wholeness as a human, his sincerity, authenticity, and openness, has provided the perfect platform to be the leader and mentor to 1,000s of people throughout his life.
Shaun joins us for his second appearance on the Podcast (his first one is here). Today we proudly speak to him about his first book - ‘Fush - A Story of Pride, Respect and Leadership’. His experience of writing a book was one of the most nourishing, fulfilling and healing things he has done. It has rekindled old relationships and connections, and reminded him what a privilege it is to be alive and have been surrounded by such great people.
In Fush, Shaun tells the story of his life which has been dedicated to changing the lives of others. From his early primary school days, having to learn to fight and protect himself and his brother, to his formative years at Jeppe High School, his time as an army infantry officer, to his life epoch as a powerlifter, and of course his memorable teaching career, Shaun has always had an irrepressible instinct to inspire others and to lead with a sense of calm and kindness no matter what the challenges.
And as a result of the hurdles he has had to leap along the way, whether life-affecting homophobia or other adversities, he has never victimised or bullied anyone because he knows what it’s like to be on the receiving end of discrimination.
Shaun’s easy to read, fun and insightful book, is filled with many lessons in each chapter. It’s a story that encourages a world of greater diversity, more inclusive environments, and where everyone has space to be themselves, no matter what their cultural, ethnic, religious or sexual backgrounds are. It encourages us to look within, to find our self-belief, and to have the faith that it doesn't matter what the situation you find yourself in, you can always overcome the obstacles.
This is a memoir that will give you an opportunity to reflect on your own life, it will make you laugh, cry and reconsider what it truly means to live life to the fullest, and to lead by example.
We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did.

Joe Van Niekerk, ex-Springbok Rugby Player, Spiritual Guide, Owner of Rama Organica Healing Sanctuary

Joe Van Niekerk, ex-Springbok Rugby Player, Spiritual Guide, Owner of Rama Organica Healing Sanctuary

ex-Springbok Rugby Player. Spiritual Guide. Rasta Heart. Smiler. Retreat Facilitator. Vision Manifestor. Big Hearted Jungle Man. Owner of Rama Organica Healing Sanctuary.
World domination and conflict, are forces which have encapsulated humanity throughout the centuries. There are however, equal and opposite forces in this world which are just as powerful...love and compassion. The latter are often misconstrued and underutilised as a tool for power and connection.
Our guest this week, Joe Van Niekerk, is an absolute mountain of a man. His energy, presence and loving open-heart, radiate out of every orifice in his body.
Devastatingly, when he was 14 years old he lost one of the biggest loves of his life, his Dad. It was a moment that delivered one of greatest pain’s he would ever experience, and trauma he would hold on to unknowingly for the next 20 years of his life.
Joe Van Niekerk is one of the finest rugby players the world has ever seen. As a youngster, he was somewhat of a prodigy. He was a sublime school sportsman and ended up representing his country at all levels in rugby. By the time he was 21 years old, he was lining up for the Springboks against the old foe, the mighty All Blacks.
He ended his professional career in Toulon, France. A place where he blossomed and matured into a fine player and club leader. Towards the end, his body could also not take the bashing much longer, or deal with the intake of prescriptive medicines he was relying on every day to help recover from matches. So he started working on and exploring his inner game, by learning about people like the Dalai Lama, and reading up on practices like Buddhism and Self-Love. It was the start of calming his ego and letting go of his former identity.
The day Joe stopped playing rugby, he went on a strict vegan diet, stopped taking all his prescriptive medicines, and really started cleansing his body. It was a 21-day juice fast that really shifted things for him physically and psychologically.
His journey with plant medicine, ayahuasca, resulted in a life-changing moment. It allowed him to release pent-up trauma he had been holding onto since the day his Dad died, and also helped him to understand how many of his actions and behaviours were as a result of that trauma.
Joe Van Niekerk, must be one of the most loving, big-hearted, connected, and energetic people you can ever meet in your life. His smile, presence, and abundance of love, shine brightly from him and his little piece of heaven in the central-american jungle. He is now the owner of Rama Organica, a healing sanctuary, transformational community, and organic farm, located in the southern pacific zone of Costa Rica.
Big Joe, or Jungle Joe as he now likes to be called, is a man who has lived an incredible life. Once revered for his brute force, and mastery skills on the rugby pitch, and now after a few years away from the limelight, stepping back in as a new and improved version of himself. JungleJoe333, stripped back, lean and loving, here once again to be revered... but this time in a completely different space and light.
We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did.
