Richard Booth on his book BROADMARSH with Charles Salvador
Order the book here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Broadmarsh-E...
Broadmarsh was built back in 1948 to house the criminally insane and hundreds have died behinds its walls. In late 1956, it only held twenty inmates. Twenty of Britain’s most dangerous men. All murderers, all seriously unpredictable psychopathic lunatics. Hungry for victims and hungry for violence. Men of Menace and Fear. Like caged man-eating tigers, they were sent to Broadmarsh for one reason and one reason only, ‘Experiments’’. They were guinea pigs of the worst kind. Electric shocks, psychotropic drugs, isolation and brutality. Violence met with Violence. The staff were all ex-military and the toughest men to be found anywhere and had no morals of any kind. Tough and disciplined and all under the strict Home Office Secrets Act. Broadmarsh is so secretive, its inmates so hated by society, that nobody cares what happens behind those walls. But there was one lunatic who changed everything. He opened the gates of hell for the world to look inside. This is the story of a man who will never be forgotten in the criminal archives of notoriety. The likes of the Krays and the Richardson’s are left in the murky shadows of madness. Mad Frankie Johnson, the devil himself, is a story that can and indeed has turned grown men to shivering wrecks. This is a journey of violence and insanity that has never really been studied… until now. This book is not about glamourising crime, it’s about showing how a young East London boy grew up to be Britain’s most unpredictable lunatic. (Please go no further if you suffer with a nervous disposition, or if you fear the unknown). What you are about to read is a disturbing and very much a horror ride through the journey of a madman. Broadmarsh is a place most folk have never heard of, owing to the Home Office Secret Files that burnt many years ago. Apart from the Yorkshire village residents, who heard the screams beyond the forbidden walls, which no longer exists. It was all a bad dream that became a living nightmare. Let’s face it, who has even heard of Mad Frankie Johnson? Well… Apart from the very old, who lived in fear of him and those who had the misfortune to come face to face with him, it is only those who heard stories passed down from those who were around during his rampage. So, strap in tight for the ride of your life. If you’re in bed, just check under it before you begin reading…. You have been warned! About the Authors:Richard Booth has been involved in the education and music industry since leaving school in 1988. His previously published book was on the life of B.B. King.
