The story of Geoffrey Ansell's spill at the race where it all began, with Silverstone's resident archivist Stephanie Sykes-Dugmore.
Hear more about Ansell's incredible escape having entered the race in his second-hand English Racing Automobile (ERA) on 2 October 1948.
The race took place at the old RAF Silverstone, during an International Grand Prix that would mark the beginning of modern F1.
