UBS On-Air: Paul Donovan Daily Audio 'Exuberance and the Fed'
A single, dubious quality US data report last Friday was enough to send bond and equity markets into paroxysms of delight. One month’s employment report should not trigger market moves of this degree. It is easy to put all the blame for this on the exuberance of traders, but Federal Reserve Chair Powell’s mantra of “data dependency” means investors will naturally elevate imprecise short-term data releases into the arbiters of US monetary policy.

UBS On-Air: Paul Donovan Daily Audio 'Employment and trend growth'
US employment report Friday looms. Around 119,000 companies will be asked about their employees. Around 67,000 companies will not bother to reply. Markets will obsess about the data anyway. The expectation is for slower job creation (as measured by payrolls), with a stable monthly change in average earnings (which are not the same thing as wages).

Paul donovan best one
The format of the Paul Donovan one is perfect. Short and sweet. Extra points for the accent and dry humour, makes you feel you are having a pint in a pub with thick carpet that smells of butter and a dartboard with one dart.
The other ones are good but a bit repetitive, ESG, the new normal, etc... we can talk for hours but not very practical or insightful, everyone says the same thing.
UBS should look into the format of the MS ones, short, and with guests like the GS ones (different business units, to go deep into something, the rates person, the prime brokerage person, the fx desk person, etc tell us whats happening, but just 5 minutes max).
Disappointed
The podcast from PD is great the rest so and so.
The most annoying thing is that the last 5/6 episodes aren’t possible to play, most probably due to an upload error.
From UBS I expect better quality & execution.
Paul Donovan
5 Stars for Paul Donovan. In fact set up an individual channel for his work to save me marking the other casts as read every day, to clear the downloads.
