Marcella adored Dione and to make a living for her and her daughter, Marcella worked as a sex worker on the dangerous streets of the red light district of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands.

One evening, Marcella dropped Dione with a friend as she headed off to work and promised she would be back at 11pm. But Marcella was never seen again.

The prime suspect in Marcella's disappearance was local man Paul Brumfitt. On close inspection, it turned out he had a long track record of crime - including being twice found guilty of murder...

    A Shocking Murder: Episode 388

    A Shocking Murder: Episode 388

37 year old nurse Lisa Skidmore wasn’t feeling very well so didn't go to work and stayed home.

Lisa’s mum Margaret decided to head to Lisa’s house on her way to the shops to see how she was as they lived very close to each other. She let herself into Lisa house just like she has so many times before on this ordinary day. But there was nothing ordinary about this day.

Not long before, 55 year old Leroy Campbell had climbed into Lisa’s first floor bedroom using a ladder. Unbeknown to Lisa, three days earlier whilst wandering the local area, looking for someone to attack, he had clocked that Lisa lived alone and had identified her as someone he would attack.  And this morning was the day he chose to carry out his attack...

The Late Night Visitor: Episode 387

The Late Night Visitor: Episode 387

When the knock at the door came shortly after midnight, Carol & Keith Slater initially tried to ignore the noise, assuming it was just kids messing around or maybe someone at the wrong address.

But as the knocking continued, Carol told Keith he should pop down and see who was at the door in case it was related to their two young children who were staying with Grandparents that night. It might be the police, maybe there had been an accident.

Minutes later, Keith was dead - at just 33 years old - and so many lives changed forever.

    The Neighbour: Episode 386

    The Neighbour: Episode 386

It was late - almost midnight - by a quarry near the forest.

The police had arrived as a car had been reported for driving in an erratic manner. The woman was clearly very uncomfortable and didn't want the officers to look inside the two suitcases.

The bodycam is startling as an officer opens one of the bags. There is an audible sharp exhale of breath when what he is looking at hits home. The officer says in both horror and astonishment: "What the f***."

skint mob ,

Poor sound quality

I really like this podcast but feel that the quality of content has went downhill of late. Also Adam speaks in such low tones that he’s hard to hear on headphones…..come on Adam , sort the sound out please !

Interesting and different

I’ve enjoyed binging this podcast over the last few weeks. It has evolved over time and I’ve enjoyed listening to not so well known crimes. But with each episode I’ve wondered why they’re not all national news. As they’re all so horrific in their own ways. I love all the Rochdale references it makes me laugh each time. I really like the guess the year at the start of each episode. I appreciate the time and effort Adam the host puts in between working and moving houses up and down and down and up the uk, Adam you always seem to be moving house. How many times over the time you’ve had the podcast lol
Keep up the good work!

Focusing on less well known cases

I’ve only recently discovered this podcast, but I am going through the back editions at quite a rate, it is an easy listen, considering the subject, the speech is clear and easy to understand, and it seems well researched. The only very slight downside to it is that it does sound like it is just being narrated rather than natural talking. Not that it worries me but it might be a little better if it was more natural.
