Customer Reviews
First class
Very interesting material. Expertly written and delivered in a calm, relaxed manner. I’m not sure what other reviewers are talking about when they mention his odd delivery and inflections. As a fellow Brit, it sounds perfectly good English to me. He does throw in a couple of Americanisms which I can put up with.
I do need to mention though, the plural of “Craft” (as in aircraft) is “craft”!
There are a few ads which are annoying. They all seem to be American and obnoxious. They are easily skipped though which a couple of button presses.
Overall I thoroughly recommend the podcast.
Compelling stories which make my work day more enjoyable!
Top tier
I am a huge fan of this pod and have listened for years. Top quality and well researched content. RMS unique delivery works for me.
Lots of reviews mention adverts. I completely understand that ads are necessary. I really enjoyed the advert music in the earlier episodes which I think RMS wrote. However, shrill and screeching presenters advertising their podcast, just as I am falling asleep to a spooky tale is really jarring.
You’re still getting five stars though. Lovely stuff.
Quality has changed
Hate to write a bad review - there is a lot of effort here and think it’s a great podcast - But : Totally agree with another review: The way these stories are narrated now is almost parody; constant upward inflection at the end, of every sentence, going up, but never down. There was a beautiful calm to these before where as now I genuinely cannot get through the most recent episode, Fascinated by the subject but the vocal tick as pointed out by others is .. unexplained.
