Lemp Mansion is one of St. Louis’s grandest homes, which housed generations of one of the city’s most prominent — and troubled — families. Among tragic accounts of untreated mental illness and untimely deaths are stories of underground passages, false claims to the family fortune, rumors of a generational curse, and even a child hidden away in the attic. I Am Afraid All Hope is Gone For Your Boys

In the Naval Park in Buffalo, New York, three majestic ships float quietly in the water, part of a large-scale tribute to the United States Military and the sacrifices made by soldiers who were wounded or killed in the name of freedom. Many believe the ships to still be haunted by the men who served on them. Eyewitness accounts detail hearing phantom footsteps and mysterious whispers, objects flying across the room, and blurred faces in photos. Some people report seeing full-body apparitions in places where there are no other living people.

Missouri State Penitentiary was decommissioned in 2004, after nearly 170 years of brutal incarceration. But the stories of harsh punishments and austere living conditions still live on in the buildings today — in the people who come to visit the prison, and in the spirits who have stayed behind, replaying their years at what is sometimes called the “bloodiest 47 acres in America,” over and over into infinity. Really informative and well narrated

Amy completely brings these locations to life with tons of background information, it’s really well presented and super easy to follow and listen to. She brings in guests from all the locations or with a strong tie to the location. If you watch kindred spirits it’s really fascinating to get soooo much more background on the shows you’ve seen. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole two season.

Spectrally Significant

A well narrated and informative podcast delving into famous historical buildings and their relationship with the paranormal. The guests are usually people who work closely with the building (or ship!) featured in the episode and can offer a ‘behind the scenes’ peek at the paranormal happenings claimed by the attraction. The host, Amy has visited most of the buildings featured for paranormal investigations and its interesting to hear her experiences and the way she and her paranormal partner try to respect the spectral residents they want to communicate with. Hope there are many more to come!
