What It's Like To Be...

I came to Dan's podcast via his interview with Alan Alda's Clear + Vivid podcast. I'm a really picky listener and listen to few podcasts. Listening to What It's Like to Be had me hooked. Friendly, genuine conversations about another person's life experience in a job they love. Dan's easy interview style belies an incredible expertise in asking great questions and follow-ups, all expertly produced. It's top notch - it seems effortless, the mark of an expert interviewer. Every episode is truly unique. You'll learn something new guaranteed. It's about people, a slice of their life - often a huge slice. Humanity and art and technical excellence all-in-one. I listen in bed, when I'm cooking, or just sit and listen. It's a perfect companion podcast, a couple of friends taking and there's a delight in just listening. Thanks Dan. The fun of this podcast comes from the interesting characters that Dan interviews and the sheet variety of professions you learn about. For me, the inspiring bit is hearing the passion in the voices of the interviewees and their sense of purpose. Despite the variety of their work, there are common themes in how they approach it.

The episodes are a great length and cover plenty, but leave you wanting more each time. The host is amazing and leads the conversations extremely well. I hope this series is a long-term thing!

Santa Claus - the best one so far! Have so enjoyed these episodes - such interesting perspectives and great story telling. Love the rapid fire at the end too. Am looking forward to the next ones
