Good insights, quite limited

Really enjoy Women’s Hour mostly. Deeper insights into really people’s lives, their work and sociology-political affairs. However, this is structured and aimed at the middle class. There’s sympathy, for the working class, and an understanding for the elite, however, I imagine this content will be pretty inaccessible for many. More raw, open & in-depth discussion needed/wanted, on daily struggle, the reality UK politics has on people, the reality of people not being seen by the NHS etc and ways to bring people together, rather than just talking it up & actually offering real solutions-or better equipped solutions.
Strictly again.

My first and last time listening to this programme . I can’t believe the level of hate mongering for what was a joke … which incidentally my husband and I never even noticed. The columnist from the independent needs to wind her neck in. Wynne for the Wynne!
Whitewashing terrorism!!

Was listening to the episode about afghan women where your guest irrelevantly starts to whitewash Hezbollah terrorists! Wow!!! unfollowed.

Disappointed with your reporting about the riots in the uk, horribly biased, it is a much more complex situation than your reporting signalled in fact there was a lot of virtue signalling, everyone on the left is brilliant and not a racist and everyone working class brown and or white is stupid and bigoted, it’s very lazy and lacked the in depth and nuanced approach it needs and deserves. I want to be informed not told your Whitewashed BBC scripted opinion.

All topics covered are interesting and useful apart from sports.
Hit or miss

I have a love hate relationship with WH. Sometimes it really resonates and the guests and topics are great, but other times it’s quite uncomfortable to listen to, particularly due to Emma’s interview technique. It seems like she tries to overcompensate to really get to the answer that she wants to hear (or thinks her listeners want to hear) and in doing so can be quite rude and derogatory to guests, to such an extent that their answers seem to be falling on her deaf ears! Let them speak and give their points! Listen more and perhaps if she doesn’t feel like they’re being open enough and addressing the crux of the issue, say so and give them the opportunity to respond but don’t keep interrogating and interrupting- it’s quite stressful and sometimes quite negative to listen to!
Courage speaks to courage everywhere

Woman’s hour introduced me to feminism in 2012 and it opened my eyes! Will forever be in my heart. Such a wide range of topics with so many courageous, intelligent, kind women on every episode. Barnet does a great job as a tough or sensitive interviewer depending on the topic. Great job ladies!
“Balance”
26/08/2023
I listen to Woman’s Hour for topics of interest and women’s stories in general. However, I feel that the BBC’s obsession with “balance” has led this podcast down a dangerous road where, whenever trans issues are discussed, the far right bigots seem to have more say than trans people. This might be because its target audience is older people who are more likely to be anti-trans, but that is absolutely no excuse. I find myself reluctant to listen whenever these topics are discussed.

I enjoy this podcast but can’t stand all the sport they now cover. I have no interest in it whatsoever.
