“It’s the Chad.” Charlie's Angels (2000), AKA Male Gaze: The Movie, is a whole friggin' thing, and very much a time capsule of THE YEAR TWO THOUSAND. I love this podcast

My favourite podcast, a comfort listen which simultaneously feels incredibly important to listen to as a sensitive person who spends a lot of time watching TV and trying to work through stuff. Even the darker conversations hold an optimism about people, particularly flawed people with difficult feelings, which is incredibly hopeful. These are not usually reviews to determine whether a film is technically brilliant but hone in on the human aspects of every film, their essence and their heart. It has led me to films I have never seen before (recently binged the entire Saw franchise, best decision ever) and even the play I will be writing a third of my dissertation on (and handing in late… Angels in America.)

Sarah and Alex are hilarious, this podcast often make me laugh in public. It has also brought me closer to my Mum and my best friend, who have both listened too

Alex’s Tweet Sent Me Here.

This podcast is marvellous but that’s a given when it comes to these two co-hosts and any content they chose to put out into the world together or separately. Alex, Sarah and friends make conversations about even those movies that you’re indifferent to a wonderful well-rounded experience. You WILL cry, you WILL laugh, you WILL think and grow and change. Just in case it wasn’t clear enough already this is well worth an hour of your undoubtedly precious time every week.

Pop culture for processing trauma but it’s funny

Love this show. I’m in the process of possibly becoming estranged from my father and listening to their discussions is so helpful but also pleasurable.

much more than some of my straight up “here’s a psychology show to help you deal with trauma”. It’s more strangely enjoyable to do it this way!

I relate to Sarah’s concept of “fashioning a dad” out of characters in film and tv.
