    Diana David Wu, author of Future Proof

    She is the author of an Amazon #1 Best-Seller Future Proof: Reinventing Work in the Age of Acceleration. It's a book about how to adopt more agile mindsets and practices to prepare yourself for success in a fast-changing world, across a 100-year life. She also wrote the best-selling children's book, Hong Kong ABCs. The work done on the book has been donated, with all profits from sales of the book going to the charity Room-to-Read. Diana also runs a company called Sarana Labs which invests in young people and their companies to prepare them for a bright future. She previously worked at the Financial Times for about 13 years and is currently on the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in HK.

    Nick Grossman of Union Square Ventures

    Welcome to another episode of Vc on air. We hope you are all having a great week. Without further ado let me introduce to you our wonderful host. The founder and Managing Partner of Click Ventures, Carman Chan and with her Today is a technologist, investor & entrepreneur that is no other than  Nick Grossman from Union Square Ventures, New York City. Nick has had a very interesting career trajectory. He was the co-founder of a blog that became New York’s main source of discussion for transportation policy, news and advocacy.  He was also a ballboy at the US Open for 3 years.  Currently, his focus is mainly on blockchain and crypto. In this episode, Nick will discuss with us how blockchain today is similar to how the internet was in 1995. He also gives us insights into what he’s most excited about in this space, whether from the consumer side or from the business side. Despite his interest in this industry, Nick also believes that Blockchain is not needed for every business and talks about some examples of companies that didn’t really require the blockchain to achieve their goal.

RS Group is a HK based family office that focuses on impact and sustainability-related investments. We all know that there’s no single way to say what impact investing is. In this episode, Ronie takes us through her interpretation of impact investment. She also clarifies the difference between value-based and sustainable investing. Moving further, having had 16 years of banking experience, she also discusses the opportunities for bankers in this area and what her company is doing to foster this community of private investors. She believes that Asia has a bright future in this aspect and gives us an example of an interesting investment made by her company.

    Hi everyone! We are on to another edition of VC on air. With our wonderful host, the founder and managing partner of Click Ventures, Carman Chan. And for today’s guest, she was recognized by the Forbes Global 100 VC Midas List in 2019, named Top 3 Best Female Venture Capitalist in China by Forbes in 2018 and won Venture Capital Professional of the Year by Asian Venture Capital Journal in 2017, Let us all welcome the  Managing Partner of Qiming Venture Partners Nisa Leung.  Qiming Venture Partners manages over 4billion dollars and has invested in about 300 companies. Nisa takes care of its healthcare investments. She previously worked for Softbank/Mobius Venture Capital and is currently a visiting lecturer at Harvard. In this episode, she gives us an overview of what she looks for in different stages of companies before investing. She also takes us through the journey of some of her portfolio companies and how they changed their strategies over time like Xiaomi and Meituan.

He co-founded the first licensed Internet service provider in Hong Kong in 1993. Now he’s shifting his focus to blockchain with the ‘Belt and Road Blockchain Consortium’. In this episode, he will talk about the initiative and how blockchain will help to better organize trading. Since 1/3rd of Belt and Road Economies follow Muslim faith, the initial focus of this initiative has been on Halal blockchain. In this episode, he will also recount his experience at Hangzhou, the birthplace of Alibaba and his interaction with the AI technology that helps in solving trade disputes.
