Social Care - Is it good or what to change? Chris Sterry

Due to my family circumstances Social Care is very important to me and I wish it to be available for all who need it and be flexible to meet the needs and choices of those requiring Social Care.
Currently we are told what Social Care is available and you have to fit in with it, while Social Care should be fitting in with each person requiring Social Care input. (Person-centred Care) The person requiring Social Care is the expert and they need to be listened to.
So what can be done to express change and will we be listened to?
Where Social Care is not acceptable how can you make your vie

Social Care - Is it good or what to change?
I am Chris Sterry, a family carer for my late wife's 53-year-old daughter who lives with me in Sheffield. She has learning disabilities and Autism, as well as other conditions.
So this was the start of my interest in Social Care when I met my late wife some 40 years ago. As the years have gone by I have become more involved in Social Care and also health.
I soon became aware that the social care on offer was nowhere sufficient and then 10 years of austerity cuts, followed by the additional costs and increased demand through COVID have put many additional stresses on the Social Care available.
I have started this podcast show to share, interview special guest and speak on behalf of other carers who need a voice to be heard to see a change to the care policy. Follow me on this show and support millions of other carers within the United Kingdom by signing a petition below
