    Welcome to This Curious Life

    Welcome to This Curious Life

Hello, world! I am incredibly excited to launch This Curious Life!
This Curious Life is a podcast featuring interviews with people who have interesting lives, professions or hobbies.
Starting a podcast is something I have been dreaming about for a long time. In fact I started working on a podcast way back in 2005 that never actually got released. It's been a long time coming.
I love audio. I used to work in radio and studied broadcast journalism along with communications at uni. My interview style aspiration is to be a cross between Terry Gross and Graham Norton. If you know both of these people we will be instant friends.
I suppose with the homage to This American Life in the title I should also aspire for a bit of Ira Glass as well. And my favourite podcast is Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me so let’s add a splash of Peter Sagal. This is getting out of hand. Perhaps I should say a cross between a chat show and NPR.
Why “This Curious Life”? Well, for one, I am curious about everything. I'm an observer and a collector of random information. For two, some people say I’ve led an interesting life myself – they may even say a curious one. I'm originally from the States (grew up in Minnesota, spent a few years in New England) and have lived in Wellington, New Zealand since 2014.
I'm surrounded by some amazing people who come from all over the world and many different walks of life. The idea of the show is to showcase these people by chatting with them about their passions and experiences. Because, well, why not. Everyone has a story to tell, and I'm giving them a platform to share it. Plus I get to play with audio editing software, which makes me a happy nerd.
Each episode will be about 20-40 minutes long. The music for the show is created by the super talented Hayley Fordyce who I expect to be famous someday. Em Siemonek has created the fantastic artwork. She, too, will be famous. And I, Terri Rosenstock, will be your host. I likely won't be very famous.
I hope you listen and I hope you like it!
