Fouzia Dastango

Fouzia is an artist of the 16th century oral storytelling art. The art form passed into oblivion with Mir Baqar Ali’s death in 1928 until efforts were made to revive this art form a few years ago. She is Indias First Woman Dastangoi Artist. Most recently she performed to inaugurate the Sufi Route Concert for peace which was headlined by music maestro AR Rahman she performed with Javed Akhtar. She has performed in JLF , Old World Theatre Festival , Kumaon Literary festival , Bookaru Childrens festival , Jashn – E – Rekhta and many more .
