Knapp Dean of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, Johns Hopkins University. Christopher Celenza talks candidly about his research origins from his youthful interests in becoming a professional wrestler to the impact of different mentors and formative experiences at American and German universities, the American Academy of Rome and more which led him to become one of the world's foremost contemporary scholars of Renaissance history. Celenza provides inspiring insights into how he was able to master Greek and Latin outside of his regular high school where those courses were not offered and highlights the value of studying those languages in addition to a number of modern European languages to get a full appreciation of the Renaissance and many related subjects.
