Yoga with Melanie Eccles

Yoga is a tool for cultivating both peace and strength in our bodies, minds and spirits. In her classes, Melanie incorporates Christian spiritual disciplines such as Scripture reading, prayer, and meditation as partners alongside the practice of yoga for cultivating mindfulness to the breath in our bodies and the Breath of God. . . Why yoga? Yoga has been a tool of God’s refinement in my life, teaching me how to slow down, how to not rush the work of the Spirit, how to be present in pain, and how to cease striving. It is easy for me to rush past the slower movements and intentional stillness of prayer and meditation, but that is where the real work begins. . . Meet the teacher: Melanie is an ordained minister in the Free Methodist Church and a Holy Yoga instructor. She's married to Kevin (2008) and together they parent two beautiful girls, Kirsten (2015) and Junia (2018).
