On this episode, we tackle: (among several other subjects)
- How Eastern and Western medicines can work together for the common good of humanity.
- How energy gets trapped in our body, what it can do to us physically and emotionally, and how to release that energy.
- Gloria's personal journey that brought her to where she is today.
In case your unfamiliar with some of these practices, Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. Traditional Chinese medicine explains that health is the result of a harmonious balance of the complementary extremes of “yin” and “yang” of the life force known as “qi,” pronounced “chi.” Illness is said to be the consequence of an imbalance of the forces.
Qi is said to flow through meridians, or pathways, in the human body. These meridians and energy flows are accessible through 350 acupuncture points in the body.
Gua Sha is a natural, alternative therapy that involves scraping your skin with a massage tool to improve your circulation. This ancient Chinese healing technique offers a unique approach to better health, addressing issues like chronic pain.
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation, well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
