The Berkeley Zen Center is a Soto Zen Buddhist practice community in Berkeley, California, USA. BZC was founded originally by Shunryu Suzuki Roshi in 1967 and led since that year by Sojun Mel Weitsman Roshi. This podcast includes talks given by various teachers at BZC's weekly Saturday public lecture as well as at sesshin and Dharma classes held at the temple throughout the year. The Heart Sutra is the most chanted sutra in Mahayana Buddhist temples throughout the world. We chant it at BZC twice daily on weekdays, and on Saturday and Sesshins. Sojun often said all of Buddhism and Zen is expressed in this Perfection of Wisdom in 25 lines.
