What is ADHD Brain Freeze + Solutions & Executive Dysfunction

What is ADHD Brain Freeze + Solutions & Executive Dysfunction

In this video I'm going to teach you how to break ADHD brain freeze. ADHD brain freeze, is a symptom of the ADHD mind where you stare at a project, really wanting to begin, but you can't because your brain feels stuck. And it's similar to ADHD paralysis.

ADHD Brain Freeze is caused by the Executive Function system in the brain becoming overwhelmed and thus freezing like an overwhelmed computer.

Then that means the solutions need to be about minimizing internal mental strain by making the internal workings of the mind, external, make the mental physical.

In this video I cover the topic of abandonment issues, rejection sensitivity, thoughts of being not good enough, not loveable, self-sabotage in relationships, and fears of always being alone that often stem from childhood trauma. I also cover some solutions to these issues including techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy.

If you have questions let me know and I'll clarify any points :)

    Fixing the Social Anxiety Cycle

    Fixing the Social Anxiety Cycle

This video focuses on social anxiety, how it creates a feedback loop that results in greater and greater avoidance+anxiety. I also talk about how to work on resolving social anxiety through methods such as calming skills, thought challenging, and I briefly touch on belief changing as well.

Therapy that goes beyond just "breathwork"

Therapy that goes beyond just "breathwork"

I wanted to make a quick video discussing the process of actual effective therapy. A complain/comment that I've encountered as a working mental health clinician and one that I encountered again today in a Reddit threat about signs of a bad therapist, was that people have seemingly encountered therapists who do nothing but breathwork or grounding/calming strategies.

While calming strategies clearly have a place, and ensuring that people know about them is helpful, this isn't the bulk of therapy (or at least it shouldn't be). Finding out the reasons that are causing someone's problems (external or internal) and finding resolutions and strategies for those problems should be the collaborative approach of a client and clinician.

If you have any questions, drop a comment and I'll be sure to respond.
