An inspirational story from the Southside of Chicago

An inspirational story from the Southside of Chicago

On this week's episode we continue the discussion Yamaneika started last week about race in America. I chatted to my friend Jeanine Anderson who survived a very difficult childhood in the Southside of Chicago and went on to a very successful career as a lawyer. She shares the reality of growing up poor and in raised in the presence of addiction. She talks about turning anger into motivation and what she feels society's responsibility is in tacking racism and inequality. It's a harrowing tale of a brutally difficult childhood and the effort required to overcome adversity.

Love the podcast. So funny and love the trio of Stephen, Des and Joanne when she’s on. Also great with Aidan too.

Keeping it real

Rediscovered my love for Des after being a huge fan as a kid collecting all the live DVDs ( majority of the jokes probably went over my head though!) Love the pod, Des has a great talent of being able to discuss both humorous and serious topics and keeping me engaged regardless and I love his honesty and realness. Steve is a sweetheart and hilarious, and always enjoy the guests that come on. Missing Joanne a little so was great to have her back last week!
