Episode 1

Practically Green

Eibhlin and Anna get started with their new podcast. Each episode they'll discuss some simple sustainable swaps. This time Eibhlin enthuses about an essential ingredient for your spring clean. Anna tells listeners how to make a magic potion for helping plants roots to thrive.

As part of their sustainable journeys, they advocate for experiences instead of buying 'stuff' so each week they will highlight one experience that one or both of them has enjoyed recently. This week it's THE MESS at Cúige Studios in Mullingar that runs every second Friday, hosted by artist Rachel Coyne. It's a creative social get together for all levels to make art, discuss, swap skills and learn all while socialising and meeting like minded people.

Next they recommend an institution, organisation or community group that we think people should know about - this week its the turn of the local library and some of the many wonderful services that they provide for free.

Finally, its time to talk about seasonality - nettles are just starting to grow here in the Irish Midlands, and there are a myriad of uses of a thriving nettle patch in your outside space, if you are lucky enough to have some growing nearby.
