    Hello lovely people! 

    My mum and I sit down and talk assertiveness, friendships and a whole bunch of other unplanned things. I hope you are all staying well. 

    For help with cultivating assertiveness I would reccomend The Gottman Institute (i found an article on tips on asserting yourself when I googled: how to be assertive gottman. Also, there are lots of worksheets and pdfs available on the internet to help you practice the skills! I don't think you can click on hyperlinks so I'm afraid you'll have to do a couple of quick searches.

    My mother and I work our way around some weird topics, trying to find the best balance to keep mental health talks healthy. As you can tell by the podcast it’s not always the easiest thing to do. Hopefully this helps reinforce that every conversation doesn’t have to (and most likely won’t) go to plan and that the most important thing is to just keep trying.
