    Forgiveness as a business leader

Welcome to New Rules: the podcast about how leaders, entrepreneurs and businesses must change, break and re-write the rules to innovate in our ever-changing and complex world. Host, Ruth Cooper-Dickson (Positive Psychology Practitioner) will be joined by a guest who is a leader and respected expert in their own industry having a real honest conversation about their experiences of innovating their business through the lens of a positive psychology theme.   Our last episode of the season had to finish on a deep topic and the wonderful David McQueen and I go there with the concept of forgiveness. David literally has the best energy of any human I know, and the conversation is unstoppable (by his own confession he is an open book!). David is a leading executive coach, facilitator and speaker. He is the co-founder of Q Squared, a leadership development company and the host of the Leadership Decoded podcast. David brings a refreshing insight of adopting forgiveness in the workplace, especially in leadership. Brutally honest about how he needs to forgive himself before sitting and listening to others with empathy, and how he has reconciled sharing his business knowledge with the wider public whilst simultaneously building his highly successful family firm.  Follow David McQueen on Instagram  Follow Ruth Cooper Dickson on Instagram Twitter LinkedIn Check out CHAMPS on Instagram Twitter Facebook Hosted on Acast. Authenticity, connection and imposter phenomenon

I first met Jo Wimble-Groves at a FORA panel for International Women’s Day in 2019. Immediately I was attracted to her warm presence and down-to-earth self, so it was fitting I wanted to explore the concept of authenticity with her on this episode. Jo is a multi award-winning tech entrepreneur and co-owner of Active Digital which she has run with her brother for over two decades. A vocal STEM ambassador, a mother of three, the creator of the Guilty Mother blog and her first book is due to be published in late 2021! Seriously, the woman is a legend. Jo advocates the importance of believing in yourself, the art of connection and authenticity in your business. It is refreshing to hear that even when we are at the top of our career game, we can all experience imposter phenomenon, especially when 10 Downing Street requests your presence!  Follow Jo Wimble-Groves Instagram Twitter Facebook Follow Ruth Cooper Dickson on Instagram Twitter LinkedIn Check out CHAMPS on Instagram Twitter Facebook Hosted on Acast. Grit, resilience and growth mind-set

If I were to chat to anyone about grit, resilience and growth mind-set, then this episode is the absolute one, with award-winning chef, author and social entrepreneur, Simon Boyle. Simon is the founder of the charity, Beyond Food Foundation, where he uses food as a catalyst for social change, including Beyond Food’s home and social enterprise restaurant, Brigade Bar + Kitchen. In addition Simon has new venture, Made Again; its mission, to support the hospitality industry through the tumultuous global pandemic. Simon is downright bloody inspiring. I love his interpretation of the ‘thread of life’ and how we can easily lose the connection. Plus the importance of entrepreneurs taking time for themselves to mentally clear the deck.  Check out Beyond Food Made Again Follow on Instagram Twitter Facebook Follow Simon Boyle Instagram Follow Ruth Cooper Dickson on Instagram Twitter LinkedIn Check out CHAMPS on Instagram Twitter Facebook Hosted on Acast.
