    It's Only Rock 'n' Roll

Family farm life in Wales-on our first episode of 2024 we meet Will and Sarah Evans whilst they are over on holiday in county Cork. Many listeners will remember Will's very popular, 'Rock 'n' Roll Farming' podcast. We had great fun recording this one and it was great to meet this lovely couple! Hear about their family and life in general on their mixed enterprise farm. We chat about everything, from selling vegetables direct and how it was tricky to make a margin, their use of homegrown feedstuffs on their farm and we even touch on the future of tenancies in the UK and what plans they have themselves for the future. Will and Sarah also give a great and very honest insight into Will's difficulties in recent years involving his mental health, how everything came to a head and how he now copes by managing his stress better and has come out the other side. I really enjoyed the visit to Ballykilcavan. I hope you, the listener does too!

    Ravings of a Mad Irishman

Canoeing, wool spinning, turf wars, farming, politics and more!
Meet wool spinner, Séamus Kirwan on a Summer's evening and join myself and Séamus as we chat about his life and his passion for his craft. In a beautiful part of Galway on the west coast of Ireland I hear all about this intricate art of working with wool and find out about the hours of work that go into each piece. I was also lucky enough to be let have a go on a spinning wheel under the guidance of the man himself, whilst we were recording.
As the listeners will hear, Séamus is a very engaging individual and shares many stories and lessons from his life so far.
