March 1 – “We are made to be Holy” 1 Corinthians 1:1-3 Rev. Philip Chemel

March 1 – “We are made to be Holy” 1 Corinthians 1:1-3 Rev. Philip Chemel

On today’s Back to the WORD our pastor Philip Chemel does an exposition on his topic “We are made to be Holy”. He begins by stating that our holiness is not based on what we do, our presence at church, or how often we tithe, but holiness is based on the finished work of Christ on the cross. We cannot profess to be children of the highest God and yet live lives that are contrary to his living word. So once we have placed our faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary. We are then called out from this world to be holy unto the Lord used as vessels of Honor and not dishonor. This happens daily through the sanctify power of the Spirit of Christ for our mind, body, soul, and spirit to be conformed and united to that of Christ. For the bible says that we are to be Holy for he is holy. Thus holiness is an attribute of God that he expects his followers to acquire while in personal relationship in our spiritual walk in this world. No matter our positions or roles in and outside the church or how old or new we are in faith; the Almighty Father of all requires us to be Holy to the glory of his blessed name cause without holiness no one can see God. Feb 23 – “Let us demonstrate true love everyday” 1 Corinthians 13:14 & Luke 10:35-37 - Elder Bright Acquah

On today’s Back to the WORD our Elder Bright Acquah dives into his topic “Let us demonstrate true love everyday”. He begins by reminding us of the different kinds of love that have been given to us from above. To make us understand that God’s love when compared to the various types of love does not fail or end. Thus we cannot say that we know him and we cannot demonstrate this divine love to the people in our church fellowship and the world. As believers we are called to simply love like Christ Jesus did while here on was earth. Anything we do must be accomplish in His Spirit with love. God’s real passion is love and we need to truly practice his revealing, healing, redeeming love he shows to us on the cross. By doing so all will know that we are his disciples and God will draw souls unto himself. Let’s get back to the WORD!

He begins this series with “ The problem of Pain and Suffering” by presenting the notion that pain and suffering in life comes to trouble our minds, bodies, souls, and spirits. Although, most of the pain and suffering in life is due to the fallen human condition. The result of physical pain and stress can arises from our troubles, lack of purpose, death, emotional stress, rejections, oppression, abuse, agonies, hurts and injuries, sicknesses, tragedies, and disasters. People throughout the generations have sought to understand  and question why there are common shared human pain & evil in our world if God is all powerful and good. He mentions that suffering is not always the result of lack of faith but even in such challenging issues of life, God still has a word for us. He goes further to reminded us that troubles and circumstances that is common to man is not always the result of sin but for the glory of God to be exemplified in our precious lives. Not to mention that In the mist of all these calamities, God still has a call on our lives to fight a good fight of faith. Saints must understand and internalize deep within their hearts that if we endure hardship in this life, we will reign with him. As believers when we encounter his glory in our pains and sufferings our faith and action have a tremendous opportunity worked together to make our faith complete. Our sure mandate is to endure anything that this word throws at us if it bring salvation and eternal glory to Christ Jesus. Jan 26 - "Show me thy Glory" Exodus 33:18 Psalms 90:16 Rev. Philip Chemel

On today’s Back to the WORD Reverend Philip Chemel dives into the topic “Show me thy Glory”. He talks about the importance of having a place in our home/lives for prayer. As believers we must daily find ourselves in a place of prayer to win the many battles of this life. Great people this side of heaven are those who engage in prayer not the ones who talks about prayer. He mentions that God is not looking for people who casually pray but those who have a genuine relationship and a lifestyle of talking to God. It’s essential for believers to know the ways of the Lord. So that they can give glory to God and his character. Finally, nothing in this life can be exchanged for the presence of the Almighty God. If Moses encountered the presence of God so can we. Let’s get back to the WORD!
