It’s been said before but it doesn’t make it any less true- this is the antidote to dreary obsession with XG and VAR. It has romance etched in its soul. I always leave listening to the latest episode until I’m commuting to the office for work- acting as an aural aesthetic for the upcoming soul surgery for whatever stage of late capitalism we find ourselves in now. You get a look back at cult heroes, footballers you might never have heard of, careers you remember, things that happen when you’re at the match, chance encounters with footballers, real life, epic goals, Morrissey impressions, being at football with your nearest and dearest, memories.
