De Valera
20 Jan
Lloyd George is quoted as saying that negotiating with de Valera “is like picking up mercury with a fork “. Jon Sopel in today’s pre-inauguration podcast made reference to the quote but mentioned jelly wherever that came from!
Newsagents cannot forget their BBC roots

As an avid listener I was disappointed that you questioned President Biden’s acuity because of his slip of the tongue, duly corrected during his address to the joint houses of the Oireachtas.
Podcast is good but please make separate feed without the sports agents.

Podcast is good but please make separate feed without the sports agents. Also the interstitial music/sting is close to unlistenable.
Less is more

It’s poor. My favourite parts are when they all talk over each other making all their points incoherent. Professionalism really needed a pub politics vibe and they have nailed that end of it.
Love news agents and news agents USA

Love it folks, bar the sports. Please stop adding to feed. By all means spin it off as its own show. But hate sports in general. Thanks.
John Bercow Interview
16/12/2023
Enjoyed John Bercow interview at the time. Only heard subsequently about the inquiry and findings of bullying against him. Very disappointed that you didn’t refer to it in interview or before or after. Impacts my view of he podcast as a whole
Silly, trite, childish
13/11/2023
This show has become increasingly silly, trite, and childish. It’s not by any stretch of the imagination a serious political show, neither is it satire. Ms Maitliss takes a school pleasure in her use of the ‘f’ word as do her colleagues, trumpeting it with lots of giggling. What really annoys me is that I dot seem to be able to remove the bloody thing from my phone
The best political podcast

I love this show it’s my favorite and the 3 hosts are really worth the 5 stars. Excellent work- keep them coming!
Good but not great
31/05/2023
There is a sense of filling time each episode- the “Rest is Politics” trumps this show given the lack of pressure to broadcast daily, and the prospect of some agreeable disagreement. By contrast, there is huge overlap of the same agreement while each presenter seeks to say the same thing in an an even more extended way than the previous person. While talking in elaborate prose, one presenter manages to consistently ramble on way too long to the point of the boredom for the listener. Please make the point quickly and move on! Despite all the above, I find myself regularly tuning in due to the banter, knowledge and insights from some of the presenters.
US Ambassador interview
05/05/2023
I was disappointed to hear how divisive the questioning of the US Ambassador was in relation to President Biden’s recent visit to Ireland. You seemed determined to find a snub to NI and Britain despite her reassurance that there was none. Smacks of tabloid journalism. Do better.
