    Hey BossBabes, thank you for listening to another episode of the vibes with PattyMayyo. If you are new here, welcome ! In this episode we are gonna get real about stress, depression and saying no to things that don’t serve you and we will focus on how to create a more balanced and peaceful life.

    This episode was inspired when I forced to recognize how much I was over working myself and missing out on my reward.

    We sometimes think working harder means a bigger reward, but overall what we get is a set back.

    Overworking your self can lead to sickness , Lack of energy , insomnia , and unhealthy weight loss and gain, moodiness and can sometimes lead to depression as well.

    When you are overworked you are not able to be as productive as you could be and that is the complete opposite of becminf the best version of your self.

    If you are like me , and feel like you constantly have to be doing someone, goi somewhere or just simply saying yes to everything you are doing your self a diservice and rewinding all the hard work you have done along your journey.

    I understand that life can get busy and unexpected events and life circumstances could occur but please learn to say no, ask for help, or how to take a break !


    I had a wake up call the other evening when I almost set my home on fire , trying to be great! After working a 9-5, live broadcasting a podcast until nearly midnight I decided to come home, cook, meal prep and execute an order for my candle business. I was putting way too much pressure on myself to get things done. I was not listening to my body. I knew I was tired but because I was so used to putting that amount of pressure on myself I didn’t think anything of it. This time though, I was completely burnt out and fell asleep while I was making my candles and burned all the water , all the wax and nearly set my family and whole house in fire. I woke up with the house completely covered in smoke and I was so out of it that it didn’t even register what happened.

    It was at the moment that I realized I needed to take a break or atleast slow down.

    Ladies, we have got to stop putting this amount of pressure on our selves. Because what happens is , when we can’t get things done we disappoint ourselves and we can slip into depression because we are focused so much on what we r can’t do it what we haven’t done that we aren’t able to appreciate all that we actually do.

    Creating balance is not as hard as you think. It’s all about making time. Setting boundaries and allowing yourself to just breathe.

    There are so many ways to balance out your life based on your lifestyle , so definitely do the research to see how you can make your life easier. Again even if that means taking a break, going on vacation, or simply asking for help.

    For me It’s easier to see my days and weeks planned out in a planner. Everyone I make plans I go straight to my phone or planner and make a note set a reminder and be sure not to overbook myself.

    If you are noticing a decline in your energy or mood and are having problems sleeping and being happy because you are starting to over work yourself or over extend your self remember these affirmations :

    - nothing is more important that my sanity
    - Nothing is more important than my peace
    - I am doing enough
    - I have given my all
    - I have done my best
    - I will get rest, so I can be a better version of myself tomorrow
    - I will not be afraid to ask for help
    - I am going to live a peaceful and balance life
    - I am becoming the best version of my self

In today’s episode we talk about overcoming negative thoughts and self doubt during our journey to becoming a better version of our self. In life things aren’t always going to go as planned and unexpected things can happen. Most of us wouldn’t of expected that we would be living in times of a global pandemic but here we are and we are all making it work in our own way. We have to be kinder to ourselves and remember we are on a journey towards something greater and that doesn’t come without hard work. You are stronger than those negative thoughts and you will be able to train your mind to think of positive alternatives for every situation. You will be able to know the difference between what is worth fighting for and what is worth walking away from. The journey will feel less like a battlefield
    And more like a force field of protection.
