We Got To Hang Out is a podcast out of Portland, Oregon with a relaxed format and a big message. Our goal is to shed light on those who positively impact our community of cycling in Portland and beyond. We provide a platform for you to hear stories in a way you likely don't hear in mainstream media. In our minds, a casual environment breeds authentic storytelling, so let’s hang out!
Episode 67 // Bob Price and Jonathan Paragas
This episode I hung out with two local legends Bob Price and Jonathan Paragas aka @KingJvpes. Bob and JP are two stellar photographers in their own right and bring a certain level of familiar energy to the table which made the whole conversation feel “at home”. Enjoy this episode that’s filled with tons of laughs and takes WGTHO in a completely different direction!
Episode 66 // James Nord
James Nord is the founder and CEO of ambassador marketing company, Fohr. Along with running a company of 40 employees James also created Deux North with his brother Dylan which paved the way for many of the adventure cycling content creators that we are familiar with today. James and I covered the gamut of experiences that led him to create the first influencer platform in the world which now supports more than 100,00 influencers. This was an incredible conversation of experience, growth, fear, trial & error and, of course, a passion for cycling and fashion.
Episode 65 // Kofi Kyei of @Ride4Unity
Kofi Kyei hails from the United Kingdom and is the founder of @Ride4Unity a multi-platform community that focuses on bringing people together and also providing representation in the world of cycling. Kofi hosts IG Live chats on his platform every Friday where I had recently been a guest. In this episode Kofi and I chatted about R4U and its origins along with the Black experience and its uniqueness to the United Kingdom. Enjoy!
Episode 64 // Jen Agan
Jen Agan is a rock star soigneur and “Jane of All Trades” from Chicago, IL. Jen and I spoke about her upcoming podcast and IG live projects, what tackling success looks like and why Jen is such a stellar, kind human being to everyone around her.
Episode 63 // Chris Corona aka @Dirtdrops
In this episode I spoke with Chris Corona (aka @dirtdrops) a cyclist, photographer and Air Traffic Controller from Scotts Valley, CA. We spoke about all things from his early days on PK Rippers to why he watched Pulp Fiction, in the theaters, 15 times. Corona has a photo series that has been published by Bicycling Magazine titled “We are not Whole Until We are All Whole” which covers the endurance mindset that he believes is required to combat social injustice. Enjoy!
Episode 62 // Passing the Mic to Christopher Stricklen
To every season turn turn turn... It is time to for We Got To Hang Out to bring a fresh voice and new perspective to the pod. Bittersweet news as our crew here in Portland is stepping down as hosts and pursuing other creative endeavors. But we are passing the mic over to our new dear friend and your new host, Christopher Cree Stricklen. It's an interview, a conversation, and exchange to which you’re invited. We hope to have your ears and can't thank you enough for all your support over the last 3-4 years. We sent Christopher our mics and H6 Zoom and it's COVID times, so this pod is done over the Zoom app and audio quality isn't quite what it usually is, just an FYI. Patreon will resume and we'll post the video from our zoom chat on there for subscribers. We hope you continue to listen and support the pod as Christopher takes it over. So show him some love!
