Disclaimer: I am a writer and not a trained historian.  I am using the most up to date materials available to me at the time of publishing, but my tales are told more for their narrative value and so my sources may be second hand, unconfirmed or even apocryphal. These men and women of history surly did live and do amazing things, but what you chose to believe is entirely up to you.
