Interview with Andrew Kania on philosophy and music

Aesthetics & Arts Podcast

Andrew Kania is a philosopher of music and professor of philosophy at Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas. In this first episode of the Aesthetics & Arts podcast, he tells us about becoming interested in the philosophy of music while still a music student (Andrew plays the violin and was into choir conducting), and also about his recent book, Philosophy of Western Music: A Contemporary Introduction (Routledge), among other things.

The music in the introduction and ending sections is performed by Colm Larkin (Irish bouzouki) and André Oliveira (violin).
