During the 2020 elections, dueling electors in several states cast their electoral college votes for Donald Trump instead of Joe Biden. This was because investigations were being carried out into possible fraud in those states, and the dueling electors would allow the vice president to choose which votes to count when the final decision was made. But despite the fact that Democrats have done this historically, the Biden administration is now alleging this was a crime.
