After over 600 episodes of The Brain Candy Podcast, Sarah Rice and Susie Meister realized their freewheeling, casual conversations didn't always get everything exactly right. And as they evolved and grew over the years and science developed, they changed their minds about a lot of things. So it's Things We Got Wrong to the rescue! Sarah explains what Hollywood gets wrong about mental illness including Psycho, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and A Beautiful Mind.     Olympic Mistakes, Tonya Harding, & Pickleball

    We're talking about the Olympics and all the mistakes that have been made over the years. We revisit the Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan scandal, what we got wrong about that societally, and what the media made worse. We learn about some games that used to be in the Olympics that have since been eliminated, and we're rooting for some of them to come back (art competitions, please). We find out why audiences prefer "gifted" people over hard workers. We discuss the addition of breakdancing and Pickleball (ugh) to the games and how Black women have gotten the worst deal over the years with Olympic rules. Plus we reminisce about Keri Strug's victory as she stuck her gymnastics landing despite an ankle injury, was carried off by Bela Karolyi, and sported the weirdest little pixie cut for America. We debate whether Pee Wee Herman got a bad deal, why Oprah may have outstayed her welcome in the cultural milieu, and we do not miss the 90s waif-ish model craze.
